Creating a safe place for youth to encounter Christ
We are praising the Lord that since 2002 we have been blessed with the ability to create safe places for youth to encounter Christ. Funny when you think about a teen getting a freeze pop on a hot day, it does not automatically make you think about our mission, however the connection is direct. The Lion's Den is a place known for good food. Although we have no kitchen, kids come there to find food all the time. We have kind and generous donors who make food weekly who drop off or arrange for food to be picked up and brought to the Lion's Den. We know that trying to "hear" when you are hungry is difficult. So we try to take care of the physical needs whenever possible. When a teen is full physically, sometimes they then get hungry spiritually! We are anxious for the opportunity to share the good news about Jesus, but willing to wait until they are ready to hear. Because many of the teens have been coming for a substantial time, we are able to build conversations and discussions about Jesus that might go on for some time and at a pace that they are able to digest.
On a hot day, starting out with a freeze pop is a great relationship builder!

AND PRAISE WITH US!
We are thankful for Bob Mortimer's visit to our
area in October, 2002
One
day before Bob Mortimer wrapped up his Massachusetts visit in October,
he made another stop at The Lion's Den! This time to be the key note speaker
at the first Lion's Den fundraiser. The Den was comfortably full and there
were representatives from eight different churches. Support came from
as far away as Hartford, CT to help continue what God is doing at The
Den.
If not one dollar came in, the day would have been a success
because many first-timers wandered through and caught the vision for what
God is doing at The Lion's Den. However, the icing on the cake was that
the Lord provided $2,200 in cash and pledges that afternoon!
Bob shared with the group about viewing the births of
his children and how The Lion's Den was a "birth" and now that
it is operating, the "family" needs to take care of this "child."
It was wonderful to sit together, and to laugh and dream together.
If you were unable to be with us on that Saturday, but
you desire to support this effort, please call us at 413-543-4444 and
we will be happy to speak to you. Or, you can print out our support form,
or fill it in online. Thank you most of all for praying! And please keep
Bob Mortimer and his family in your prayers. We thank God for His abundant
blessings!
