In ancient writings, there remains a story about a leader by the name of Daniel. He stood for what he believed to be right and it nearly cost him his life. The decree was for him to be placed in the "Lion's Den" for his punishment. The next day the King realized the decree was wrong and went to the Den to see if Daniel's beliefs had protected him in the place of great danger. We celebrate going the places of great danger and finding them instead to be places of great safety. The Lion's Den Youth Outreach Center has been designed to be such a place.
It is our hope that youth will find this a place of great safety and a place that they will find real answers to the deep questions of life.
The word "sanctuary" is one that greatly defines what the Lion's Den is for youth. It was a word that seemed to be limited to use in the "church" but truly with the effects of crime and violence in our world, we will miss if we don't help create more places of safety for our youth and children.
